If you're of a certain age and grew up in the New York City metropolitan area, you probably remember watching the Yule Log on WPIX on Christmas Day. Channel 11 used to show a fireplace aglow for hours on end, a goofy yetif not literallywarming looping log. This year, it's on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Let’s rejoice in the now. At this very moment everything is going swimmingly at BWI Marshall Airport. It’s a "beehive of activity," according to a BWI spokesman, but there are no stings just a pleasant buzzing sound. Passengers are moving along through security and ticketing, with very few long lines. The Wi-Fi is free, too. It’s "mellow," said a co-worker who picked up a relative at the airport this morning. Sigh. Rejoice.
