If you’re a contemporary fashion aficionado, there is no doubt you’ve lusted over one of Geren Ford’s soft, silky pieces at one point in your fashion-filled life. The TalkingShopping girls personally adore all that is Geren Ford, and now, we’ve got yet another reason to love the label because they’ve just launched their very own e-commerce site! Although we admittedly prefer to buy usually pretty pricey Geren Ford duds on Bluefly at discounted prices, it’s always nice to have the option to shop their newest collections, right when they arrive.

As many of you may recall, tween starlet Miley Cyrus just launched her brand new clothing collection collabo with designer pal Max Azria for Walmart, called, what else, Miley Cyrus & Max Azria for Walmart. Sure, the TalkingShopping girls weren’t all that enthused about the designs, but hey, we’ve gotta give it to Max and Miley for creating fashion-forward duds at sweet tween-friendly prices! Now, there’s yet another teenage TV princess launching a clothing collection for the almighty Walmart, and it’s none other than the star of Nickelodeon’s hit series True Jackson VP, Keke Palmer! For those not familiar, Keke plays True Jackson on the show, and she’s about as cute as any budding, spunky teen star can possibly be! The line is called Mad Style by True Jackson, and can be found in-store and online at Walmart now!

The collection includes jumpers, knit tops, leggings, dresses and tees, and was designed by Jane Siskin, who has also helped the Olsen twins with their uber-popular contemporary clothing line, Elizabeth and James! Although Jane did the design work, People reports that Keke had the final word on which items made the cut… and apparently when Jane showed Keke her handy work, Keke loved it all! Jane describes the line’s debut collection for Fall ‘09 as, “self-styled pieces that can be mixed and matched, neon colors, leggings, and layers.” Sounds perfectly teen-tastic to us! The best part? All of the items in the line are under $14! Now that’s a back-to-school bargain!

This is every blogger’s dream come true! It seems that blog All Lacquered Up’s founder, Michelle Mismas has not one, but two special polish collections coming out in collaboration with two different polish purveyors this fall, and we’re totally jealous! First, the TalkingShopping team learned that Michelle had created her very own special lacquer color, the perfect shade of purple, for one of our personal favorite polish brands, Rescue Beauty Lounge. Then today, we learned that she created another, 12-color polish collection for Barielle’s Shades line, perfect for fall, that hit online and in stores today! Amazing!

Right now, it doesn’t seem that you can purchase Michelle’s purple polish for Rescue Beauty Lounge just yet, but we know it’s hitting stores soon. However, you can snag all of the 12 colors in her Shades by Barielle collection, which includes some gorgeous icy blues and greys, TDF cranberry colors and a chocolate, green and red color that really pol! They’ll set you back $8 a bottle, but that’s pretty standard for well-formulated, rich polishes. Our personal favorite polish hue from Michelle’s Barielle collaboration has got to be either Lava Rock or Blackened Bleu. The first is the perfect shade of wine, and definitely fits into our favorite fall looks. Blackened Bleu is a little more bold and eccentric, but hey, it’s fun to play with polish colors!

The TalkingShopping girls used to be obsessed with Hard Candy cosmetics, especially their famous nail polish, in the ’90s. Right about the same time that clueless hit and Contempo Casuals was the reigning mall retailer queen, Hard Candy made a name for itself with their wild make-up colors, and for paving the way for a new trend of nail polish colors for teens - namely pastel hues like baby blue and pink. However, since the brand’s ’90s heyday, they’ve faded into the background of the beauty world, relinquishing their post at Sephora stores after a few years of seriously suffering sales. However, NYLON reports that Hard Candy will come back and hopefully, be better (and cheaper) than ever, re-emerging at Walmart stores across the country!

Just about every month during this annoyingly drawn out recession, economists throw out facts about consumers’ spending habits and what they say about the current state of the economy. However, this is one spending habit that we had no idea was such a good indicator of our financial state - men’s underwear! According to Philly.com, data released yesterday, “by the NPD Group Inc. show that sales of men’s underwear spiked 4.6
percent the first six months of this year, while sales dropped in
virtually every other apparel category.” And apparently, this is an indication that the economy might be turning around! The article notes that unlike women’s undies purchases, which are more impulsive, male underwear is bought like a commodity. They’ll usually buy the bare minimum of underwear possible, and wear them for as long as they can until they’re plain worn out (holes and all). Replenishing their stock only happens when absolutely necessary.

The branding power of Britney Spears seems to be endless. Wherever there is an opportunity to roll in the dough with some Britney merch., Britney’s team is on it. Example: Britney is officially the first celebrity to lend her name to gifts on Facebook! Brit Brit’s loaned her lovely face, and other Britney-esque sayings, pics and drawings, to virtual gifts that Facebook users can buy and send to their friends! Apparently, all of the gifts were designed by Susan Kare, the artist who, in the ’80s, created some of the original Macintosh computer icons. You can check out the gifts on her official Facebook page!

In the spring, the TalkingShopping style sleuths told you that NYC-based beloved high style designer Rachel Roy would be launching her very own diffusion collection called Rachel Rachel Roy for Macy’s. Amazing. And what’s even more amazing is that the first wave of pieces form the collection have finally dropped in-store and online at Macy’s, and we couldn’t be more excited! Furthering our excitement, we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the offerings - they’re adorable! Rachel definitely pulled out the stops on this one, and everything in her collection is under $130! Love it!
